“for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”
1 Timothy 4:8 ESV
Physical training, whether it’s going to the gym, or some other form of fitness training, is important in order to keep our bodies healthy, but spiritual training is better. Spiritual training doesn’t replace physical training. In fact, I believe they go hand in hand. I also believe that you can have physical training without spiritual training, but you can’t have spiritual training without physical training. Why? Because when you are keeping yourself focused on living a Christ filled life, and a godly life, you naturally desire to keep your physical body healthy, in shape, and alert, so God can use your whole being for His good in the world while we are still here.
Dear Heavenly Father, be with us as we train to be more like you, and motivate and encourage us to also take care of these human bodies we have, to be in shape, and taken care of so you can use us as a witness for your glory on this Earth however you need us. In Jesus Holy name, Amen.
